Sleep Disorders

Sleep disorders are medical disorders of the sleep patterns of a person. Some sleep disorders are serious enough to interfere with normal physical, mental, social and emotional functioning.

Some common sleep disorders include sleep apnoea (stops in breathing during sleep), narcolepsy and hypersomnia (excessive sleepiness at inappropriate times), cataplexy (sudden and transient loss of muscle tone while awake), and insomnia.

Other disorders include sleepwalking, night terrors and bed wetting.

At the Southern Respiratory and Sleep Specialists, we have all the knowledge and experience to guide you through the necessary steps in order to help treat your sleeping disorder.

Ask about our home sleep studies which can take place in the comfort of your own home. We also offer in-lab diagnostic sleep studies, CPAP titration studies and daytime sleep studies in our modern and comfortable facilities.
